MAHIR SCREENER ("Mahir Screener", "Mahir", "we", "us", or "our"), is committed to fair, transparent, and predictable billing practices for every user ("you", "Client", "User") who subscribes to a paid plan on www.mahirscreener.com and its associated client portal (the "Platform").
This Refund & Cancellation Policy ("Policy") explains, when you are entitled to a refund, how any refund is calculated on a pro-rata (day-wise) basis, what is excluded from refund, and how to raise a request. This Policy forms part of, and must be read together with, our Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy. As a SEBI-registered Investment Adviser, we frame this Policy having regard to the SEBI (Investment Advisers) Regulations, 2013 (as amended) and applicable SEBI circulars on fees and cooling-off, in addition to consumer protection norms under Indian law.
This Policy applies to:
a) The Free Login Plan and Premium Annual Subscription Plan offered on the Platform;
b) Any premium features, add-on modules, advanced screeners, alerts, watchlists, research tools, or reports purchased separately;
c) Renewals and upgrades of an existing subscription.
This Policy does not apply to services offered free of charge, promotional trials, or complimentary access, which may be discontinued at any time without any refund obligation, since no fee has been charged for the same.
Subscription Plan: a paid plan giving access to defined features of the Platform for a fixed billing cycle.
Billing Cycle / Subscription Term: the total number of days for which the plan fee has been charged, starting from the Effective Date.
Effective Date: the date on which payment is realised and access to the paid plan is activated.
Cooling-Off Period: a period of 5 (five) calendar days from the Effective Date during which a Client may exit the subscription with only a proportionate (pro-rata) deduction.
Pro-Rata Refund: a refund calculated in direct proportion to the number of unused/unexpired days remaining in the Subscription Term, using the formula in Clause 5.
Unused Period: the number of days remaining between the date a valid cancellation request is received and processed and the last day of the Subscription Term.
Cooling-Off Period (within 5 days of subscribing): If you cancel your Subscription Plan within 5 (five) calendar days of the Effective Date, you are entitled to a refund of the full plan fee, less a proportionate charge for the number of days used and any non-refundable items listed in Clause 6 (e.g., payment gateway charges, statutory taxes already remitted).
Cancellation after the Cooling-Off Period: A User may cancel the Premium Annual Subscription at any time during the subscription period. Upon cancellation, the User shall be entitled to a pro-rata refund for the unused portion of the subscription term, subject to the deductions and exclusions specified under this Policy.
Full Refund Situations (No Deduction for Usage): You are entitled to a 100% refund, with no deduction other than actual payment gateway charges (if any), where: (i) payment was deducted more than once for the same order due to a technical/billing error; (ii) payment was debited but access was never granted; or (iii) we are unable to provide the subscribed service due to prolonged, uncured Platform downtime.
If we suspend or discontinue a paid plan, feature, or the Platform itself before the end of your Subscription Term — other than for non-refundable circumstances — we will proactively initiate a Pro-Rata Refund for the unused period, calculated as per Clause 5, without requiring you to raise a request.
Refunds are computed on a simple day-wise (pro-rata) basis using the following formula:
Refund Amount = [Total Plan Fee ÷ Total Days in Subscription Term] × Number of Unused Days - Non-Refundable Deductions
The Effective Date and the date of processing the cancellation request are both counted as "used" days.
Where a plan includes a bundled discount (e.g., an annual plan sold at a discount to the monthly rate), the discounted price actually paid — not the notional monthly-equivalent list price — is used as the "Total Plan Fee" for this calculation.
GST/taxes are refunded only to the extent permissible under applicable tax law and only if we are able to reverse/adjust the corresponding tax credit already remitted to the government.
Illustrative Examples:
Example 1 – Cancellation After 100 Days: ₹999 Annual Fee (365 Days), 100 Days Used, 265 Unused Days → Pro-Rata Refund = ₹725.16 less applicable deductions.
Example 2 – Cancellation After 200 Days: ₹999 Annual Fee (365 Days), 200 Days Used, 165 Unused Days → Pro-Rata Refund = ₹451.51 less applicable deductions.
Example 3 – Cancellation After 300 Days: ₹999 Annual Fee (365 Days), 300 Days Used, 65 Unused Days → Pro-Rata Refund = ₹177.90 less applicable deductions.
Important Notes: Date of activation and processing date are treated as used days. Refund amounts are rounded to the nearest Rupee. Any refund approved under this Policy shall be credited only to the original mode of payment.
The following amounts are excluded from any refund, whether the request falls within or outside the cooling-off period:
Payment gateway/transaction processing charges actually incurred by us on the original payment;
The value (on a pro-rata or per-unit basis, as applicable) of research reports, stock screens, watchlists, alerts, or one-on-one advisory/consultation sessions already delivered, downloaded, or availed as on the date of the cancellation request;
Any one-time onboarding, KYC-verification, or account-setup fee separately disclosed at the time of purchase;
Promotional discounts, referral credits, cashback, or free add-on periods granted at the time of purchase, which are forfeited on cancellation;
Statutory taxes and levies already remitted to the appropriate government authority and not recoverable by us.
No refund (including no pro-rata refund) will be payable where cancellation or termination arises from:
Breach of our Terms & Conditions, including sharing of login credentials, unauthorised redistribution of research/content, or fraudulent use of the Platform;
Suspension or termination of your account for regulatory, KYC, AML, or compliance reasons, or on account of a directive from SEBI, a court, or another competent authority;
Change of mind after the entire Subscription Term has already lapsed, or after all reports/sessions under a fixed-deliverable plan have already been delivered;
Market losses, investment outcomes, or performance of any recommendation — Mahir Screener provides research/advisory services and does not guarantee investment returns; no refund is payable on account of investment performance.
To request a cancellation and/or refund, please write to us with your registered email ID, order/transaction ID, and reason for cancellation, using either of the following channels:
Through the "My Subscriptions" section of your account on the Platform, where available; or
By emailing our support/grievance team at compliance@mahir.in.
We will acknowledge every refund request within 2 (two) business days and communicate the outcome, along with the computed refund amount (with a breakup as per Clause 5 and Clause 6), within 7 (seven) business days of receiving all information/documents required to process the request.
Approved refunds are credited only to the original mode of payment (source account/card/UPI/net-banking instrument) used for the transaction; we do not process refunds to a different account or in cash.
Once approved, refunds are initiated within 7 (seven) business days. Actual credit to your account may take a further 5–10 business days depending on your bank, card network, or payment gateway/UPI provider, over which we do not have direct control.
You will receive an email confirmation once the refund has been initiated from our end, along with the reference/UTR number where available.
If you upgrade to a higher-value plan mid-cycle, the unused pro-rata value of your existing plan (calculated as per Clause 5) is adjusted/credited against the fee for the new plan.
If you downgrade to a lower-value plan, the applicable pro-rata refund of the fee difference for the unused period, if any, will be processed as per Clause 5, subject to Clause 6.
Auto-renewal: where auto-renewal is enabled, you may cancel it at any time before the renewal date from your account settings to avoid being charged for the next Subscription Term. If a renewal payment is inadvertently charged after a valid cancellation instruction, it will be refunded in full.
